Seven days and I had made up my mind. This was clearly the guy I had prayed for. But would he know that I was the one for him? As I had mentioned earlier, he had been burned badly twice before and had been single for more than twenty years. How would I be able to convinced him, from half way around the world, that I was the one for him? Short answer: I couldn’t, but God would.
He was faced with a nearly insurmountable dilemma. How could he get to know me and trust me from half way around the world? He had asked to see my transcript of college records and resume with the idea that he could bring me here to the US on a work visa as his engineering assistant. This seemed to him to be a really great idea because we could have the chance to get to know each other and let the relationship develop naturally if it was to be. He made the offer to me early in the second week of our communications and I was elated by the idea.
He immediately went to the US immigration service website and began to review the process required for me to get a work visa. It was then that he realized that it would be nearly impossible to get that type of visa for me at the time. The only visas that were being given out to young Filipino girls were either fiancee or marriage visas. He now found himself in the middle of a terrible dilemma. He had already offered the job, but unless he asked to marry me there would be no way that he could make good on his offer.
