Don’t know what to think…

Sometimes it seems like the politicians in this country are all going crazy. Now in the face of one of the worst economic downturns in the history of the country, they are bickering over the most trivial stuff rather than finding a real solution. Some say that Tax Cuts Increase Revenue to the government. Does that make sense to you? Think about the Bush tax cuts & the deficit we have now. I think that Obama and the Stimulus Package will help some but the question is will it help enough?

Changing Providers

My hubby and I are now seriously considering dropping our current phone, internet and satellite TV providers. More and more they are getting to be a pain in the butt to deal with. We have a lot of problems with phone calls, internet and satellite TV. We have been dealing with these problems for months if not years.

On top of that, our satellite TV provider tried to charge us $95 for a service that they said would be free. They probably thought that they would get away with that because it was mixed in with several other bills. Maybe they could with other people but not in our house. My hubby and I always check the charges on our utility bills. We have caught and disputed quite a few over the years.

We are planning to get a fiber optic cable connection this time. We hope that we will have an improvement in our phone, internet and TV as a result. My hubby has already filled out the application forms and they are now ready to be sent in after we make sure we get the $95 back.

Shop Coupons

Even though my hubby and I are both football fans, we haven’t tried shopping for any NFL products just yet because they are usually quite expensive. I just don’t want to spend my money on those kinds of things because I have other priority things to spend on it. Using nfl shop coupons could save some money but I don’t think it would amount too much. Every little bit counts though but in these tough economic times, shopping for NFL products is not at the top of my list even though how much I wanted to buy my hubby a football as his retirement gift.

Birthday Party

My nephew’s birthday is coming up soon. I am anxious to see pictures of his birthday party. I am sure there will be a lot of good and tasty foods on that day. My mother mentioned to me that they would roast one whole pig and butchered a goat. It will be my nephew’s 2nd birthday. I already sent cash as my birthday presents. Instead of me buying his presents here, his mother will be the one to buy him there. That way I saved a lot of money on shipping. The party will be held at my folks place in the village. He will have an advance birthday celebration on Sunday because his birthday falls on Monday. His mother has a school and his father also has work.

First Fishing Trip of the Year

My hubby and I just got back home from fishing. It was not a good fishing trip at all, very slow. There were four of us in the boat, me, my hubby, my hubby’s niece and her husband. All of us caught at least one fish but we threw them back in the water because they were not the kind of fish that we like to eat. We caught some big mouth bass, northern pike and small blue gills. Even though we did not catch a lot of fish like we usually do, I enjoyed the trip. It felt relaxing to be able to go out on the lake and get some fresh air and sun.

That was the first fishing trip for me and my hubby this year. We were not able to go fishing until today because there have been a lot of things going on in the last few weeks. I went to the Philippines for vacation and after I got back here in the US, my hubby has been sick and was hospitalized for four days. I miss fishing and boating. I hope we get more warm weather so that we can do more fishing and catch some good eating fish.

Family Vacation a New Way

Family vacations are big around these parts and I’m lucky enough to have a big enough family that we can take quite a trip and never have to stay in hotels. My kids love it because they get to play with all their cousins and I love it because it’s cheap! We’ve actually decided to rent an RV this year since there will be 6 of us and it will get crowded otherwise. I think we’ve got everything under control and I’ve been to www.SECURITYCHOICE.com, talked to the neighbors about us being gone and figured out exactly how much money we’ll need to spend to keep this thing fueled. I’m really excited about getting out there this year and driving over to Texas to visit my sister and then on to Arizona to see my folks. The kids can’t wait and I’m just glad we’ve got something bigger to travel in than an SUV!

Many years ago, when my hubby was in the army he did not get paid much. He was originally from Illinois but was stationed in Colorado so he was far from family and friends when he ran short on cash. He was young then, just married and had a new baby and finances were really tight because the military pay was nowhere near as generous as it is now. As a private, his pay was so low that later he found out that he could have been collecting welfare when he first got drafted. He was always afraid that at some point he would not able to come up with the money to redeemed his hunting rifle to the pawnshop for good.

Nowadays, we don’t have to worry about from getting to paycheck to paycheck anymore. Instead of pawnshop, there are payday loans available that can help almost anyone from paycheck to paycheck when necessary. There are some financial institutions that offer payday loans no credit check no faxing needed. People with bad credit history can now also apply for bad credit payday loans online. I haven’t tried applying for no credit check payday loans yet but I might give them a try if that is my last resort.
